Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! All our tests are HSA eligible and we accept HSA cards. Just make sure to keep your receipt for your tax records.

  • These tests are for anyone who cares about measuring and being conscious about their health.

We specifically offer tests that provide the most relevant data correlated with health and longevity, and it’s not data you can get from a wearable device or smart scale.

As it turns out, the tests most correlated with longevity are also helpful for improving physical performance. Almost every professional athlete has regular access to DEXA scans, VO2, and metabolic testing because they help optimize training. You can get the same benefits!

Knowing more about your body empowers you to optimize and succeed, regardless of your fitness level or goals.

  • If you had food in your teeth at a party would you want someone to tell you or would you rather not know?

Everyone has to start somewhere, and no one starts from exactly the same spot. From our experience, knowing data about your health is always better than fearing it.

Think of your options like this. You can

    1. Not test and never know.

    2. Test and be disappointed—at which point you can decide how much you care and if you want to make changes.

    3. Test and be pleasantly surprised—feel good about something that previously caused minor anxiety.

    4. Test and be validated—be confident that the path you’re on is getting you to the outcomes you want.

If you’re worried about your results “looking bad” then it seems like you do care at least a little bit. If that’s the case, it’s always better to know your numbers so you can then decide if you want to do anything to change them or not.

  • Each test is a bit different, but what’s the same is that we always take time to review the results with you afterwards, answer your questions, and help you get a clear path to your goals.

    We typically plan on

    • 20 minutes for DEXA scans

    • 1 hour for VO2 max (+ a 30-minute follow up Zoom call after the test if you want it)

    • 30 minutes for Resting Metabolic Rate

    • 1 hour for strength, stability, and mobility assessments

  • Yes, always! The test results are immediate, and we give you a comprehensive digital report. We’ll walk you through everything you need to know and answer any questions.

Have questions after you’ve left? Just call or text us, we’re always willing to help out.

  • We typically recommend at least 10-12 weeks between repeating a test. Lasting change doesn’t happen overnight, and we want to give your body time to adapt to changes in diet, nutrition, training, and recovery.

  • Testing provides clarity, clarity provides predictability, and predictability unlocks controllability. The more clarity you have about your body, the easier it is to make improvements, track progress, sustain momentum, and get the outcomes you want.

  • Check out our Prepare for Your Test page for detailed instructions about each test.

  • No problem, bring your bike! We have a Wahoo Kickr Core trainer to hook your bike into. The general principle is that you should test doing the exercise you’re most comfortable with. That’s running for many, biking for some, but could even be swimming, rowing, rucking, nordic skiing, or doing jumping jacks in firefighter gear.

  • Yes. Your VO2 max score is valid as an alternative to the police academy running test or firefighter test. We’ll provide you with a report and are happy to provide verification if needed.

  • We partner with Siphox Health and work with a CLIA/CAP accredited lab that performs extensive validation on each assay to meet federal CLIA requirements.
